Our factories

Quality is decided on the plant floor.

Our production capacity is organised into our own plants covering the full turbo cycle: component machining, rotating assembly, balancing and final control before packaging. None of the critical process leaves the house.

We run dedicated lines by product family, so a change of part number does not force a reconfiguration of the whole plant. That is how we hold the standard when volume rises, which is exactly when most manufacturers lose it.

  1. 01 — Machining

    Components

Turbo components produced under dimensional control, with sampling verification on every batch.

  2. 02 — Assembly

    Rotating assembly

Cartridge assembled with controlled torque on every joint and traceability of the parts that make it up.

  3. 03 — Balancing

    Rotor balancing

Every rotor is balanced inside the plant. It is the stage that most decides whether the turbo will last, and we do not outsource it.

  4. 04 — Final control

    Testing and packaging

Verification of the finished unit, serial number engraving and packaging with the installation documentation.

Our products

Two lines, one standard.

We manufacture the complete unit and the cartridge. Both come off the same line, with the same control and the same factory backing.

Line 01

Turbochargers

The complete unit, assembled and verified in the plant, ready to bolt onto the engine. It is the choice for the distributor who needs turnover and for the shop that wants to solve the job with a single part.

  • Finished and packaged unit
  • Light and heavy diesel applications
  • Serial number and factory warranty
  • Onyx Turbo shipping packaging
Line 02

Cartridges

The turbo's centre assembly, balanced as a single piece. It is the line for the shop that reconditions while keeping the original housings and needs steady volume with even quality.

  • Rotating assembly balanced in-house
  • Same control as the complete unit
  • Supplied by part number and by volume
  • Batch traceability

Installation and care

A properly installed turbo does not come back.

Every unit leaves the factory with its user manual and installation protocol and its official quality assurance card. This is the summary of what we ask of the shop: these are not loose recommendations, they are what keeps the factory coverage valid.

On arrival

Handling and safety

  • Inspect the box for shipping damage and check the accessories.
  • Keep the quality certificate: it is what backs any warranty claim.
  • Do not use the bypass valve as a handle and do not alter its factory setting.
  • Work only with the engine off and cold.
  • Unauthorised disassembly or modification voids the warranty.
On installation

Installation

  • Identify the cause of the previous failure before replacing.
  • Leave the intake, the exhaust and the oil lines free of debris.
  • New air and oil filters are mandatory.
  • Pre-fill the filter and prime the turbo inlet with clean oil while turning the shaft by hand.
  • Use 40CF grade oil or higher: oil cleanliness defines service life.
  • All connections airtight and torqued to spec.
In service

Operation

  • Idle for 3 to 5 minutes after start-up and before shutdown.
  • Do not idle more than 20 minutes continuously: it causes oil leakage at the compressor end.
  • Keep oil pressure within spec and stop the engine if the warning light comes on.
  • Never accelerate and shut off abruptly, and never coast in neutral: both starve the turbo of oil.
Periodically

Maintenance

  • Check the connections: air leaks make noise and a blocked return line causes oil leakage.
  • Change filters according to the engine manufacturer's schedule.
  • If the engine has been idle for more than 7 days, prime with oil and turn the impeller before starting.
  • Check clearances: more than 0.15 mm axial or less than 0.1 mm radial calls for professional service.

Common faults and what to do

Power loss, black or blue smoke, oil consumption, abnormal noise, low boost pressure or seal leakage almost always come from these causes.

CauseSolution
Dirty air filterClean or replace per the engine manufacturer
Intake blocked between filter and turboClear the blockage or replace the pipe
Air leak at the intake or the manifoldReplace gaskets, tighten clamps and repair damaged parts
Foreign object in the exhaustRemove the object and inspect the turbo
Exhaust blocked or gasket missingClear the path and replace the damaged component
Leak at the turbine housing jointReplace the gasket and tighten the bolts
Oil return line blockedClear or replace the return line
Crankcase breather blockedClear the blockage
Carbon or sludge in the turbo oil passagesChange the engine oil and clean the passages
Injection timing or valve timing out of specAdjust per the engine manufacturer's manual
Rotor imbalance or worn bearingRepair or replace the turbo
Dirty compressor or turbine housingsClean the assembly

Replacing the turbo without fixing the root cause produces the same damage again. We also recommend a full flush of the engine lubrication system during installation.

Frequently asked questions

What we get asked most.

If your case is not here, write to us and we will look at it with you.

We manufacture. The plants are our own and the critical process — rotating assembly, balancing and final control — happens inside our facilities. That is why we can stand behind a unit without depending on a third party.

The turbocharger is the complete unit: it arrives assembled and ready to bolt onto the engine. The cartridge is the turbo's centre assembly, balanced as a single piece, and it is used when the original turbo housings are sound and only the centre is reconditioned.

We manufacture both lines to the same standard; the choice depends on the type of work the shop does and the volume the distributor handles.

Yes. Distribution is our main channel: importers, diesel parts wholesalers and workshop chains, with terms and delivery scheduling by volume. Write to us with your market and the applications you move and we will come back with a commercial proposal.

We evaluate private label and custom packaging projects according to volume and lead time. Tell us which part numbers you need and in what quantities, and we will tell you whether the project is viable and on what terms.

The warranty requires fresh oil and new filters at installation. Also: clean or replace the oil feed and return lines, check that the return is not obstructed, use 40CF grade oil or higher and prime the turbo with clean oil while turning the shaft by hand before start-up.

It is also worth checking the air filter and the intake duct: a loose object entering the turbo destroys it in seconds, and that failure is not a manufacturing defect. The full procedure is in Installation and care.

Manufacturing defects, backed by the unit's serial number. To claim you must keep the quality certificate that comes in the box, with the turbo model, the assembly number, the serial number and the date of purchase.

It does not cover damage from poor or contaminated lubrication, foreign objects, incorrect installation or engine modifications, and unauthorised disassembly or modification voids coverage. When we receive a unit for inspection, we report what caused the failure, not only whether the warranty applies.

Every unit ships with the user's manual and installation protocol — safe handling, installation, operational standards, routine maintenance and a common fault table — and with the official quality assurance card, which records the turbo model, assembly number, serial number, engine model, date of purchase, warranty period and the distributor or point of sale.

A summary of those instructions is in the Installation and care section of this page.

The most reliable source is the turbo's nameplate, which carries the part number and the serial number. If it is illegible, we need the engine make, model and year and, if possible, the engine part number. A photo of the plate is usually enough to confirm.

Yes. We extend application coverage continuously, prioritising what the channel asks for most often. If a part number you need is not in production, tell us: distributor demand is what sets our roadmap.

About us

Durability before catalogue size.

A diesel turbo never works in easy conditions: full load, long climbs, altitude, dust and shifts that never end. Onyx Turbo was built for exactly that. We would rather grow slowly in part numbers than give ground on what holds the brand up: the part has to last.

Because we are the ones manufacturing, we control the whole process — from incoming material to packaging — and we do not depend on third parties to stand behind a unit. Every turbo ships with a serial number, and that number is what backs the warranty with the distributor and with the shop that installs it.

  • Own manufacturing

    We produce it

We do not import and relabel. The plants are ours, the process is ours, and the standard does not change with the supplier of the month.

  • Quality

    Controlled in line

Verification happens inside the process, not at the end as a rescue filter. If a unit does not meet spec, it does not move to the next station.

  • Backing

    We answer from the factory

Serial number traceability, factory warranty and direct technical support for the distributor and for the shop doing the install.

Why we manufacture and where we are going.

Mission

Build turbos that do not come back.

Produce turbochargers and cartridges for diesel engines to a standard that does not depend on the batch or the shift, so the distributor sells with peace of mind and the shop installs without second-guessing. Holding that standard is our only reason to be manufacturers and not middlemen.

→ Verifiable quality, not promised quality.

Vision

Be the reference factory in diesel.

Become the manufacturer that diesel parts distributors choose first, known because its turbos last where others do not. Grow by adding plant capacity and application coverage, without dropping the production standard a single point.

→ Let «it lasts like an Onyx» be something they say in the shop.
